Tekameli
is a five-part gypsy band from Perpignan, France. Singing
in Catalan and Calo, the ancient language of the Spanish
Gypsies, Tekameli combines the flamenco guitar,
rumba-inflected rhythms and emotion-laden singing of the
Gypsy Kings with ecstatic religious expression. The result
is both intensely personal and expansively universal. A
dazzling experience.
“Refreshing
in its unabashed ardor and unapologetic sense of spiritual
longing.” RootsWorld
