An afternoon of talks and performances by leading figures in Sufi music. An opportunity to explore the music from this sacred tradition and its place in modern life. Presenters include:
• Novelist, journalist and broadcaster Jameela Siddiqi, who won a Sony Gold award for her BBC World Service series "Songs of the Sufi Mystics" and is a regular contributor and reviewer for Songlines magazine
• Turkish singer, composer and scholar Latif Bolat, co-author of Quarrelling With God: Mystic Rebel Poems of the Dervishes of Turkey
• With guest appearances by Sheikh Ahmad Dede and his Whirling Dervishes
