Internationally renowned virtuoso Cheng Yu performs a programme of devotional music on the two most celebrated Chinese classical instruments – the pipa (four-stringed lute) and guqin (seven-stringed zither). The pipa is famed for its expressive power while the guqin was played by philosophers, intellectuals and monks, including Confucius and the poet Li Bai.
