Lou Beckerman is a community musician, healing arts practitioner and singer-songwriter. Combining her music with healing she performs widely and facilitates inspiring workshops on the voice and wellbeing connection – many in hospice and hospital settings.
Accompanying herself on guitar and singing bowls, her performances include traditional sacred music and folk songs and modern compositions inspired by ancient prayers. Lou’s own heritage of beautiful and evocative songs in Hebrew and Yiddish express a whole gamut of emotions, resonating Jewish tradition and lifting the heart. Her songs for uplifting the spirit can be found on her widely acclaimed album 'My Gift to You'.

In 2008 Lou is facilitating sound and song projects at the Royal Alexander Children’s Hospital, Brighton, The Martlets Hospice – Brighton, St Wilfrid's Hospice – Chichester and the Brighton Breast Cancer Group. Her singing group for older people, Octavia, in Burgess Hill, is thriving and always welcomes new members. She also gives one-to-one tuition.
